The Hangover (2009)

Four guys go to Vegas for a bachelor party. Crazy things happen. Directed by Todd Phillips.

This was better than I expected it to be. Great performances especially by Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis. I enjoyed that the movie dealt with the aftermath of their crazy exploits, and really didn't go out of its way to show what they were doing - it was far better for it. The scene of them all waking up in the hotel room was very reminiscent of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (so much so that I expected Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson to come stumbling into the room).

The appearance by Ken Jeong was also great, although his character would have been better with slightly less screen-time. I was impressed by the Mike Tyson cameo - it actually fit into the movie better than I anticipated. Additionally, the way that the characters were able to get out of the police station was actually believable, and didn't just feel like typical movie conventions (where they have to find an unbelievable escape in order to keep the movie going).
