Pool Sharks (1915)
W. C. Fields' first movie - he plays a character that is unpleasant, something of a con artist and hates children. So he was consistent, at least. Directed by Edwin Middleton.
This short film stars Fields as a man competing with a rival for a young woman's affections. They both attempt to sabotage one another, usually with hilarious results, and it culminates in the two doing trick pool shots to one up the other. The pool shots are all stop motion, but fairly well done (1915, after all), and the film is fairly light. It's nice to see Fields in his younger years, although playing the same character he would become famous for.
